Two young girls look at some growing plants in a labThe deadline for submitting applications for SEE garden grant awards has passed.

Other organizations provide garden grants as well. Click on this link for a list of other schoolyard garden grant opportunities.

There are two forms of the grant, Request A and Request B. Please read the descriptions below and view the separate applications to decide which plan best suits your needs:

  • Request A - offers a prescribed garden (sort of garden by numbers!) for teachers without gardening experience or who will not have a lot of help. The plan is easy to follow and the plant species are hardy and drought resistant. Teachers are able to request specific gardening tools and curriculum to support their use of the garden. All plants will be available for pick-up at the University of Minnesota around the first week of May 2013.
  • Request B - is for teachers who want to design their own garden, enhance an existing garden, or better use an existing garden through the purchase of equipment or curriculum. This proposal invites you to use your creativity and knowledge about gardening to tailor the request for your specific needs.
