of Minnesota Extension Center for Natural Resources and Environment. Environmental
Science Education programs re-energize environmental sciences teachers by providing
innovative classes throughout the state for nature center educators, teachers, and
youth environmental educators.

Medtronic STAR Program (Science and Technology Are Rewarding: the Medtronic
Foundation). This program aims to increase science learning by all students
and to provide them with the opportunity to consider careers in science, health,
engineering and technical fields.

Teacher Enhancement Program. Teacher Enhancement projects provide professional
development opportunities to broaden and deepen the disciplinary and pedagogical
knowledge of teachers, improving their ability to deliver rich and challenging science,
math and technology education to all students.

The Eisenhower Professional Development Program. This program provides financial
assistance to states to support sustained and intensive high-quality professional
development, so that teachers will provide challenging learning experiences in core
academic subjects for their students.

The Xerces Society, DeWind Award. The Xerces Society is a nonprofit organization
dedicated to invertebrate and biosystem preservation. The Joan Mosenthal DeWind
award funds research relating to Lepidopteran conservation.

Monarchs in the Classroom, University of Minnesota. Monarchs in the Classroom
uses monarch butterflies as a vehicle to promote inquiry-based science, conservation
and research in K-12 classrooms.

Imaging Center, University of Minnesota. Imaging Center equipment and
technical support have been integral to the development of this site.
